Playfina cashback and rakeback side by side

Playfina cashback and rakeback use the same rates, 1% on Bronze up to 10% on Diamond, but they reward different players. Rakeback pays on every bet, every week. Cashback pays only on what you lost over a month.

If you win or break even, only rakeback pays. If you lose steadily, both do. The table shows each status side by side; the statuses themselves come from the loyalty ladder on the Playfina VIP program page.

Both start once you reach loyalty level 1, which takes 5 XP. Neither is paid to players from Sweden, to duplicate accounts or to closed ones.

The short answer to the title question: on Bronze, Silver and Gold, rakeback pays more often and to more players, because it does not need a losing month. Cashback only pulls ahead on high statuses, where its caps grow much faster, and only in months that went badly. That is not a month to play on for the refund.

Playfina rakeback: every Monday, win or lose

Every Monday after 00:00 UTC, which is 10:00 in Sydney in winter and 11:00 during daylight saving. The count covers the week from Monday 00:00 to Sunday 23:59 UTC.

Rakeback ignores the result. Bet A$3,000 in a week on Gold status and you get 3%, A$90, even if you finished the week ahead. Bet A$500 on Bronze and you get A$5, which is under the A$8 minimum, so nothing arrives.

The same weekly bets across three statuses show how the rate and the cap interact:

Bets in the weekBronze, 1%Gold, 3%Diamond, 10%
A$500A$5, below the minimum, nothing paidA$15A$50
A$1,000A$10A$30A$100
A$5,000A$50A$150A$500
A$20,000A$200A$310, the Gold capA$2,000

Caps are the same A$310 for Bronze, Silver and Gold, then A$460 for Sapphire, A$770 Platinum, A$1,540 Ruby and A$7,999 Diamond. On Gold you hit the cap at about A$10,333 of weekly bets. On Diamond the cap of A$7,999 needs A$79,990 of bets in one week, a level very few players reach.

Payment comes in two halves: 50% straight away, 50% the next day. It is bonus money with x40 wagering and a A$8 maximum bet, and it expires after 7 days.

  • Week counted: Monday 00:00 to Sunday 23:59 UTC.
  • Paid: every Monday after 00:00 UTC, half that day and half the next.
  • Starts at loyalty level 1. Not for Sweden, duplicate or closed accounts.

Monthly cashback on a A$1,000 losing month

Cashback looks at net losses from the 1st to the last day of the month and pays a share on the 1st of the next one, after 00:00 UTC.

On Sapphire, 4%, a A$1,000 losing month returns A$40. That needs A$1,600 in bets to clear at x40. If the month ends in profit, there is nothing to calculate. The A$8 minimum applies here too, so small losses on low statuses return nothing. On Bronze the cut-off is A$800 of net losses, on Silver A$400, on Diamond A$80.

From the moment it lands, the clock runs fast. The cashback timeline in the terms, day by day:

The next daySecond 50% credited
Within 3 days of creditingBonus must be activated
7 days after creditingExpires if x40 is not finished

Worked through, the A$40 Sapphire cashback means A$1,600 of bets inside a week, about A$229 a day. That is fine for someone who plays at that level anyway and a trap for someone who does not.

If cashback did not arrive on the 1st, the cashback rules ask you to contact support by live chat or at [email protected]. Check the three usual reasons first: no net loss for the month, an amount under A$8, or an account below loyalty level 1.

Playfina status, rates and caps in one view

Yes, status is the whole system. Moving from Bronze to Silver doubles both rates, from 1% to 2%. Ruby pays 7%, Diamond 10%. The cashback caps grow faster than the rakeback caps: Diamond can get up to A$15,990 a month in cashback but A$7,999 a week in rakeback.

What Playfina does not publish is how fast statuses come. XP is earned by play, and the public table stops at level 10, still Bronze. So do not pick a casino, or a stake, on the promise of a 10% rate you may never reach. Judge it on Bronze numbers: 1%, a A$460 monthly cap, a A$310 weekly cap.

The wording on the payout also deserves a flag. The official pages say 50% of the amount goes to your balance at once and 50% the next day. Earlier Playfina wording described the same split as 50% cash and 50% bonus. And rule 5 puts x40 on the bonus amount either way. Those three statements do not sit together cleanly, so ask support which part, if any, is withdrawable before wagering, and plan for none.

What are the requirements for cashback?

Both bonuses must be activated within 3 days of being credited and wagered x40 within 7. The maximum bet is A$8, including bonus buys, purchased bonus rounds and bet doubling. Asking for a withdrawal before wagering is complete cancels whatever is left. Bet contributions can vary between games, and the pages do not list them.

Playfina FAQ

Which is better, rakeback or cashback?

Rakeback, for most players, because it pays win or lose and every week. Cashback only beats it in a heavy losing month on a high status, and by then the real advice is to stop. On Ruby, for example, the monthly cashback cap is A$4,790 against A$1,540 a week in rakeback. On Bronze, rakeback needs A$800 of weekly bets to pay; cashback needs A$800 of monthly losses.

What time does Playfina rakeback arrive in Australia?

Playfina rakeback is credited after 00:00 UTC each Monday, so from 10:00 AEST or 11:00 AEDT on Monday morning on the east coast. The second half follows the next day. If it does not arrive, contact support by live chat or [email protected].

Can I get cashback on Bronze status?

Yes, from loyalty level 1, which takes 5 XP, at 1% of net monthly losses. The A$8 minimum means you need A$800 of net losses in the month before Bronze cashback pays anything, and the Bronze cap is A$460. Silver halves the threshold: at 2%, A$400 of net losses already reaches the A$8 minimum.

Why did I get no Playfina cashback this month?

Usually one of three reasons: the month was not a net loss, the amount fell below A$8, or the account is not yet loyalty level 1. Duplicate and closed accounts are also excluded. If none applies, contact support, as the cashback rules ask.

Is Playfina cashback available in Australia?

The page shows it in A$ for the Australian site, and only Sweden is excluded by name. Playfina has no Australian licence, though, so nothing local protects the payment. The Interactive Gambling Act bars offering online casino games to Australians, and a missing cashback goes to Playfina support or AskGamblers, not to an Australian body.
