Playfina tournaments: read the card first

Every one of the Playfina tournaments lives on a card, and the card is the rulebook. Name, prize pool, countdown, eligible games, scoring. Read it before you spin, because a bet on the wrong pokie scores nothing.

In October there were eight cards. Two were Playfina's own, with A$ and free spin pools. Six came from game studios running network events across many casinos. Bets in all of them also count for the weekly rakeback on the Playfina cashback page.

Put the two house pools side by side. The weekly race pays four times the daily cash, A$1,200 against A$300, and almost eight times the spins, 19,000 against 2,500. But the daily race resets every day, so over a week it hands out A$2,100 and 17,500 spins in seven separate rounds.

None of the cards charges an entry fee, and none of them changes the house rules. With a bonus active, every scoring spin is capped at A$8, and Playfina's licence is from the Tobique Gaming Commission, not an Australian regulator, so a disputed leaderboard goes to support and then AskGamblers.

Prize pools as listed, October 2026.

Playfina tournament tabs: Daily, Weekly, Providers

Five tabs sort them: All, Daily, Weekly, Providers and Coming Soon. Daily holds the Daily Spins Race, Weekly the Weekly Pokies Tournament, and Providers the studio events.

What each tab held when we checked in October:

TabWhat it listsCards in October
AllEvery running event8
DailyDaily Spins Race, A$300 + 2,500 FS1
WeeklyWeekly Pokies Tournament, A$1,200 + 19,000 FS1

The table below the cards sums up what is common to all of them. Pokies only, scoring set per card, and the bonus rules of the account apply on top.

The Coming Soon tab was empty when we checked. The provider pools were quoted in euros, so for those cards check the amount on the tournament page itself. The two house races are the only ones priced in A$, which makes them easier to judge.

How are tournament points counted?

The public tournament page does not publish one scoring rule for all events. Each card sets its own: some count total bets, some the biggest win, some the win as a multiple of the stake. Check the card, and the tournaments section of the bonus terms.

Joining Playfina tournaments on a budget

There is no sign-up form. You open a card, check that it is running, and play one of its listed pokies with real money. Your bets or wins from then on go on that leaderboard.

A few habits help. Pick one tournament at a time rather than spreading a budget across three. Choose the house races if your stake is under a dollar, since the field is only Playfina players. Use the provider races only if you already play that studio's games, because a studio race usually scores that studio's pokies only.

And decide your spend beforehand. A leaderboard creates pressure to keep spinning when you are just outside the prizes. If a bonus is active, the A$8 maximum bet still applies on every spin, so big-stake strategies are not open to you anyway. On mobile, the Tournaments button in the bottom bar opens the list directly.

The bets you place in a tournament are not wasted if you miss the prizes. They feed four other counters on the site at the same time:

  • Daily Spins Race: A$300 + 2,500 FS, the shortest race and the easiest entry.
  • Weekly Pokies Tournament: A$1,200 + 19,000 FS over a week of play.
  • Provider races: Gamzix, BGaming, Booongo and Playson, VoltEnt and Pragmatic Play events.

Playfina tournament pokies and points

Only the pokies named on the card count. House races are usually broad; network races are tied to one studio's games. The Hot Games strip below shows what Playfina's lobby pushed in October, including studios that ran network events, such as Pragmatic Play, BGaming and VoltEnt.

Points follow the card's rule. For multiplier scoring, a small stake is no handicap.

A quick example of why the rule matters. A A$40 win on a A$0.20 spin is a 200x multiplier. A A$400 win on a A$8 spin is 50x. In a biggest-win race the second player leads; in a multiplier race the first one does, with a stake forty times smaller.

In a total-bet race the maths is simpler and harsher. Whoever bets most wins, so a A$0.20 player cannot catch a A$8 player by luck. If a card scores turnover, enter it only for the rakeback and coins it earns on the side.

The provider cards add a second filter: the studio. Spin Express is a Gamzix event, the two Million Drops cards are BGaming's, Hell or Win belongs to Booongo and Playson, the Halloween leaderboard to VoltEnt and PLAY with KEVIN to Pragmatic Play. Races like these usually count the organiser's own games, and the card names them. A player who sticks to one studio already knows which card to open first.

Playfina FAQ

What is the Playfina Daily Spins Race?

Playfina's daily house tournament, with a pool of A$300 + 2,500 free spins as listed in October. It sits under the Daily tab, resets each day and is open only to Playfina players. For a small-stake player it is the most realistic leaderboard on the board.

What is the Weekly Pokies Tournament?

The weekly house event, with A$1,200 + 19,000 free spins in October. It is listed under the Weekly tab and runs over a full week of pokie play. How the A$1,200 and 19,000 spins are split between places is not on the public list; open the card for the prize table before you commit a week of play to it.

What is PLAY with KEVIN?

A Pragmatic Play network promotion with the actor Kevin Hart, listed on Playfina's Providers tab. Its prize pool, eligible games and rules are on the tournament card itself. The pool was quoted in euros, so the A$ value moves with the exchange rate. Gates of Olympus 2500 and Sweet Bonanza Super Scatter, both on Playfina's Hot list, are Pragmatic Play titles; whether they count is for the card to say.

Are tournament prizes wagered?

The cards do not say. The bonus terms have a separate tournaments section, and deposit bonuses carry x35. Ask support how prizes are credited before you rely on them as cash. Under term 1.3, tournament bonuses are open to every country except Sweden.

Do Playfina tournaments cost extra?

No entry fee is shown on any card. You need a real-money balance to place the bets that score, and nothing else. The real cost is the turnover a leaderboard pushes you towards, so fix the amount before the race starts. Playfina tournaments also count towards rakeback, so a fixed budget still earns its 1% or more on Monday.
